THE COMPLETE SKINCARE GUIDE FOR MEN 2020

Cleanser

The most critical drug in your skincare arsenal is your cleanser. Many of us don’t know how gray our skin becomes by the end of the day-dust and particulate particles in the air mix with our natural oils and sweat forming a gray coating. A good cleanser can help cleanse the skin of all dirt, excess wax, dead skin cells and residue from other skin care items such as moisturizers. Wash your face with a cleanser intended for your skin type in the morning and in the evening.

Moisturizer

Our skin has the main purpose of preserving our underlying tissues. Disrupting this mechanism induces an increased loss of trans-epidermal water, which is associated with chronic skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis. Evidence has shown that moisturizers replace skin lipids and help repair the uppermost skin layer to prevent water loss. Use your moisturizer for locking in the moisture on your skin right after you wash your hair. Clinique for Men’s Full Hydrator Activated Water-gel Concentrate is one of the best on the market today as it is ultralight and boosts the levels of skin moisture for 24 hours.

Sunscreen

Sun exposure to UV rays has been associated with skin damage, premature skin aging and skin cancer. More than 90 per cent of skin cancers are directly caused by sun exposure. Despite ample safety alerts, less than 15 per cent of people use sunscreen on their face while they’re more than an hour outside. Even 15 minutes of exposure to UV rays from the sun will harm your skin according to the CDC. Apply approximately 1⁄2 teaspoon (with at least SPF 15) of a broad spectrum sunscreen to your face and neck at least 15 minutes before leaving home.

Toner

A skin toner helps regulate skin pH and oil levels so if you have oily and acne-prone skin, use it in your everyday skin care routine. The Rescue Water Lotion by Lab Series is a lightweight facial toner that soothes discomfort immediately, so that you can use it after washing or shaving. If you have dry or irritated skin, there’s probably no need for a toner.

Scrub

Best way to exfoliate your skin and give you a smooth and healthy complexion is a facial scrub. Using a scrub 1-3 times a week, and concentrate when scrubbing on your T-zone. Clean your face before scrubbing, and use a moisturizer to avoid unnecessary drying immediately afterwards. Should not apply pressure while scrubbing, then let the scrub’s gritty texture buff away dead skin cells and dry patches.

Mask

Many face masks contain clay or activated charcoal that helps eliminate and absorb excess oil that helps prevent acne breakouts, whiteheads and blackheads from occurring. Fine Vine’s Activated Charcoal Mud Mask is ideal for all types of skin and will help unclog your pores and improve your skin’s overall texture. Ideally, you should use scrub to improve its efficacy in front of a face mask.

Anti-aging Serum

Prevention is easier than cure, so you don’t have to wait to start using an anti-aging drug for the first symptoms of ageing. Anti-aging serums help enhance the skin’s tone and texture, and reduce lines and wrinkles. Scrubd’s anti-aging serum is one of the most effective anti-aging serums because it contains hyaluronic acid, marine collagen and other antioxidants that improve the health of the skin.
